Custom Mockups For Shopify | ShineOn

Transcript

What's up guys, this is Matt from Shine on here and today I have a tutorial for you for how to create custom mock up images of your products and add them to your product listing on your Shopify store.

So today we're going to be running through how to upload custom images to your Shopify product listing, we're going to be looking at where you can find our custom assets for sellers and download Photoshop files for you to edit and put them onto your product listings. And we're going to look at how to edit all of those using a free online tool called photo p, which allows you to use and edit Photoshop files. We're also going to be looking at exporting those image files as the correct file size and the correct resolution, so that they can be accepted by the Shopify uploader. So we'll be looking at all of that today.

So the first thing you need to do is you need to go to your Shopify store and you need to go to the ShineOn app. Once you're within the app, you need to find your products that you would like to upload the customized images to. So this is a product that you have already created. I've got one here. And I'll just click on it. And this is the editor on for that product. So you can see here, I've got my description, I've got the name of it, etc. So one of the things that you'll notice straight away is the current images. So we already provide to you with a bunch of mock ups that you can use for your product. So you can see that some of them are selected. And if you click add more images, there's a few more on there. And then there's the ability to upload your own images. So if you click that, you can go in there and you can upload any image you like. So this can be for example, if you have ordered your product already, you have ordered a sample and you have had a photographer take some pictures of the products, you can upload your own photos of the products in this section here. Now what we do provide is we have a bunch of different markups available. So there's actually some that aren't included within this list here that you can manually add. So to do that, you will need to go to our seller assets folder. Now there is a link to this that you're seeing on screen now in a description of this video. So if you go here, this is all of the Photoshop files, all the assets and all that sort of stuff that we have made available to our sellers for all of our products. So what you need to do is you need to go to this link. Again, it's in the description. And then you need to find the products that you're editing. In this case, it's Interlocking Hearts necklace. So we'll find that in the folder here. And it is just here, we click this. And then within here, you've got a bunch of stuff that's relevant to the Interlocking Hearts necklace. But what we want to do is we want to get more mockups. So we can have a look through these and see what different kinds of there are. But what we're gonna do is we're gonna go to new lifestyle mockup here. And then here's a bunch of stuff for all the different mock ups now one of them that isn't available. On the default mock ups is this grassy one, which I quite like. So I've downloaded this, click that click download, and it will download a PSD file, which is a Photoshop file. Now, if you already have Photoshop, and you're familiar with that, then feel free to use Photoshop, it should be pretty easy, if you know how to use it. But if you don't, then you can use a free tool called photo P. So as photop.com, I'll put a link in the description. Now this is a brilliant tool, I use this for so much stuff, you don't need a login, you don't need to sign in, you just go to photop.com. and it's effectively a smaller version of Photoshop that does all the basics that you'll need for the most part. So what we want to do is the PSD file that we downloaded from the folder here, we want to drag it into here. So I'm going to go ahead and do that.

And now once we've done that, you'll see it here. So now what we want to do is we want to use this image, we want to put the image in the message card that we've used for our product onto this image and save it and then upload it on to the Shopify product page. So to do that, first of all we need to upload, we need to put the image into this section here. So to do that, you need to focus on the different layers. So the main thing that we need to do here is we need to find the design, double click on this section here the white square so you double click on that and it will bring you this. So this is your template for where you put your design. And now it's just a case of taking your design in this case, you can see I've got this example text thing here which you can see it on the mock up so we want to put that design into this.

So that's our product. So we take it, and we drag it and we drop it, it will come up with these little dots on the corner, right. And if you beat a mouse over them, select it, click and drag it, and you need to drag it so that it fills the entire box. Once you've done that, there's a little arrow at the top, you click that to confirm the change. And now that you've done that, you go to File, Save Smart Object. Now that saved when we go back to the other, the original, so you click on the next layer here. You go back to this, and those are mock ups. And now that we have an extra markup that we want to include, we need to save this file. So the important thing to remember about uploading images to the Shopify app is that they have to be a specific size, and it has to be below five megabytes. These Photoshop files are very big by default. And sometimes when you save them straight up without paying attention to the settings that you use, it will generate a file that is too big, and you will not be able to upload it to the Shopify app. So this is real simple to do, you just need to make sure that the resulting file is under five megabytes. So what we do is we click file, and then we click export as JPEG. jpg. So here, it will tell us a few different things, it will tell us what the size of the file is going to be. So in terms of the resolution, so it's got 200 pixels by 200 pixels, it gives us a little slider for quality. If you use JPEG, you can generally keep it at the default values. And down here in the corner, it'll tell you the file size, the estimate file size. In this case, we're well below five megabytes, this is actually 413 kilobytes, so that's fine. So we can just go ahead and save that. Once that's saved, it will download it. So now that we have that downloaded, and we've created our mockup, we need to upload that on to the product page. So you need to go back to your product page on Shopify. And then as we were saying before, and within underneath this current images section, make sure you have clicked add more images. And then the ability to upload your own image will appear at the bottom here. So if you click Add image, you'll be able to select it from here. So now I can select it from my downloads, click Open. And then it will appear in the list. And now that that's appeared in the list. That's it, it's done, you'll be able to see that on your product listing, it's in there with the rest of the images, you can add them and move them around and change them and that sort of stuff. And really is that simple. So just to recap, you need to already have a product created. And then you need to click add more images on the image page on the product page were doing so we'll show you a little place where you can upload custom images. And then you need to go and download one of the additional markup files that we have from our external Zoho drive that link is in the description for that you can go and check that out. And then you need to edit it in photo P and make sure that it is below five megabytes before you upload it and that is all there is to it. Guys, thank you for watching, and I'll see you all again soon.
